Kalinga Super Cup 2024: East Bengal FC players show amazing gesture to travelling fans ahead of Hyderabad clash

East Bengal players showed a heartfelt gesture to the fans before the match against Hyderabad FC on Tuesday (January 9).

Fans are the heartbeats of a football club, and East Bengal Club is rich with a devoted fan base. The supporters have a soulful connection with the club and try to follow the team across the country in matches.

Unsurprisingly, there were fans at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday to cheer for East Bengal in their opening match of the Super Cup against Hyderabad FC.

There were a handful number of fans at the stadium and they were in a vibrant mood. The supporters came to the pitchside with their drums and the passion and love for the club was quite evident as they kept on singing their chants ahead of the game.

And East Bengal players were quick to acknowledge that. The players came onto the field and before the kickoff, went towards the fans on the far side and clapped for their support. Cleiton Silva, Prabhsukhan Gill, Borja - all the players were united in appreciation for the fans.

It was a heartfelt moment for the fans who made the journey to Bhubaneswar from various parts of Bengal.

The Red and Gold Brigade will be hoping to pull off a decent show in the tournament. Carles Cuadrat's men are in Group A along with Hyderabad FC, Sreenidi Deccan and arch-rivals Mohun Bagan Super Giant. Only one team from each group will advance to the knockout stages of the tournament and the final will be played on January 28.
