The match, which began at 4:30 PM IST, was halted around the 32nd minute when a swarm of bees attacked the referees, prompting officials and players to seek immediate shelter. Spectators in the stands were also affected, with some attempting to shield themselves from the unexpected intrusion.

After approximately a 10-minute interruption, play resumed under heightened alertness. Despite the disruption, the first half concluded goalless, with both teams displaying resilience and adaptability.
There was a total of 14 minutes added as first half stoppage time, which also saw Mumbai City's Nathan Rodrigues go out injured. The first half concluded after 62 minutes of play and it remains goalless at the break.
Inter and Mumbai will be vying for a victory and the winning team will be advancing to the semifinals. Mohun Bagan and FC Goa have already advanced to semis and will play against each other. The winner of this match will take on either Jamshedpur FC or NorthEast United, who will lock horns later tonight.
