In the wake of a disappointing loss in the Kalinga Super Cup 2024 Kolkata derby, Mohun Bagan will be looking for explanations as to what went wrong. We here will be discussing the players who fought and the ones who rued an off-day.

Easy Bengal’s performance was comparatively superior to Most Mohun Bagan players' moderate display. Excluding Raj Basfore, Arsh Anwar Shaikh, and Glan Martins who were probably the worst players on the field.

Mohun Bagan's best player for this Kalinga Super Cup 2024 Kolkata derby was Kiyan Nassiri. The 23-year-old was relentless during the Mariners’ attacks. The match’s only penalty went to Mohun Bagan as Kiyan was fouled in the opponent's box.

Next to him, Dimitri Petratos did well in the final third as he always does. Mohun Bagan went on the offensive a few times with his help. However, considering the finishing skill was off for most of the team, his efforts were in vain.

Hector Yuste is another player besides Kiyan that can be rated on a high scale. Along with defending well at the back, he's the one who scored the only goal for Mohun Bagan. Asish Rai and Brendan Hamill were average besides Yuste at the back.

Armando Sadiku and Hugo Boumous needed to step up when a big part of the squad was either on national duty or injured. However, both were lackluster in their positions. Glan Martins was reckless and it nearly costed Mohun Bagan.

If coach Clifford Miranda didn't take him out when he did, Mohun Bagan might have had to play with 10 men. The same can be said about the 20-year-old Raj Basfore. Basfore can be considered as the worst player on the ground including the opponent's squad.

Only the Mariners goalkeeper comes 2nd to him. Substitutes Jason Cummings and Ravi Rana did their best to turn the tables in their favour, but failed in their endeavour. Suhail Bhat and Sumit Rathi were brought in too late to leave their mark in the game.
