Kolkata, Aug 22: After a long time a Kolkata Premier Football League match reached a different height at Mohun Bagan ground on Monday (August 21) in front of a jam packed crowd at the stadium was packed.

The stadium, with around 25 thousand spectators, was filled with green-and-maroon colors and flags all around. Interestingly, after a long time, a foreign striker single-handedly changed colours of the match by scoring a hat-trick.

Kamo Stephane Bayi, the striker from Ivory Coast, showed some extraordinary skills even on the slushy ground following a torrential rain. The famous Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan is Kamo's idol.

The 21-year-old Mohun Bagan striker said after the end of the match, "I have followed Asamoah since my youth when I started playing football in the academy of premier Nigerian club Akwa Starlets. Then while representing Akwa Starlets senior side I also saw Asamoah closely and followed his style of game."

Interestingly, Kamo not only follows Asamoah's game style. The striker also tries to mimic his idol's style of celebration!

Kamo added, "I watched Asamoah celebrating his goal by launching a traditional African style of dance in a match in African's Nation Cup. From then on, I try to follow even his style of celebration by launching the traditional African dance."

After scoring a hat-trick on Monday, Kamo did the celebration in a similar style by showing a traditional African dance.

The striker also gifted his man-of-the-match award to his coach Shankar Lal Chakrabarty.

Kamo clarified, "I am not new in Kolkata League. In the year before last, I had played for Kolkata's another first division club George Telegraph. But in the middle of the season, I left and joined a Goan Club. The main reason was coach's lack of communication skill with the footballers. But this time, Mohun Bagan's present coach has been excellent in maneuvering the footballers. That is why reason we are supposed to deliver best in the ongoing Kolkata Premier league."

Kamo was one of the anchors in Aizawl FC's I League title last season.
