Harry Kane has expressed his support for Dominic Solanke, who joined Tottenham from Bournemouth on Saturday. Solanke signed a six-year contract with Spurs in a record £65 million deal and was introduced to the fans before their pre-season friendly against Bayern Munich later that day.
The striker, who netted 19 Premier League goals for Bournemouth last season, is expected to fill the centre-forward gap left by Kane last year. The England captain believes Solanke will integrate well into Ange Postecoglou's playing style. "It should be great. Dom's a great player," Kane said. "He plays with high intensity, high speed. For sure, he's going to get good chances in this team with the way that Ange plays."

Kane made a brief appearance off the bench for Bayern on Saturday, playing the last 10 minutes as Vincent Kompany's side secured a 3-2 win. It was his first return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since leaving, and he received a standing ovation from the home fans when he came onto the pitch.
Having left Spurs before the start of last season, Kane did not receive a send-off from the club but was grateful for the opportunity to show his appreciation after the game. "I had an amazing career at Spurs, so many great memories, and it was great to see the fans again," he added. "Obviously some of the players, the staff who I've had a lot of relationships with."
The game itself was significant for Kane despite limited preparation. "The game itself, I probably shouldn't have played; I only had one training session," he said. "But it was important for me to play 10 minutes or so, so good to get back out there." He also mentioned how meaningful it was to say goodbye properly: "I didn't get a chance [to say goodbye]. This was a great way to say thank you [to the fans]."
Kane expressed his gratitude towards Spurs fans for their unwavering support throughout his career. "The reception I got was amazing; it was great to clap them around the pitch after with them staying behind," he said. "I will always be thankful to every Spurs fan; the support they've shown me throughout my career has been incredible."
Reflecting on Solanke’s potential impact at Tottenham, Kane noted that Solanke would thrive under Postecoglou’s system: "You saw that here with the way two top teams went at it toe-to-toe. I think it's a really good signing." He also shared his personal interaction with Solanke: "I've just seen him in the dressing room and wished him all the best and I hope he has a great season."
In addition to his comments about Solanke, Kane shared his sentiments about returning to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium through social media: "Amazing to be back at a place that will always be very special to me. Thanks to everyone for an incredible welcome. Great to get some minutes in the legs and step up the preparation for the season."
