Harry Kane Hat-Trick Delivers Bayern Munich's DFB-Pokal Double In 3-0 Final Win Over Stuttgart
Bayern Munich completed a domestic double for the 2025-26 campaign by beating Stuttgart 3-0 in the DFB-Pokal final, with Harry Kane scoring all three goals at Olympiastadion Berlin. The victory delivered Bayern’s first cup success since 2020 and capped a strong finish under Vincent Kompany, against a Stuttgart side that matched Bayern’s attacking numbers in the Bundesliga.
Kane’s display places the England captain in select DFB-Pokal history. Kane became only the fourth player to score a hat-trick in a DFB-Pokal final, following Uwe Seeler for Hamburg in 1963, Roland Wohlfarth for Bayern in 1986 and Robert Lewandowski for Borussia Dortmund in 2012. The performance also extended an already prolific first season in Germany.

Across all competitions this season, not counting the Club World Cup, Kane has scored 61 goals in 51 appearances for Bayern. Ten of those goals came in the DFB-Pokal. Only Gerd Muller, with 11 goals in the 1976-77 edition, has scored more for Bayern in a single DFB-Pokal campaign.
Kane scored in every round of this season’s DFB-Pokal. That places Kane alongside Dieter Muller in 1976-77 and Dirk Kurtenbach in 1986-87 as the only players to find the net in each round including the final. Kane has also scored eight goals against Stuttgart this season, more than against any single opponent previously for Bayern or Tottenham.
The contest in Berlin started cautiously despite both clubs being the Bundesliga’s leading scorers this season. Deniz Undav went close early for Stuttgart, driving into the area from a tight angle and striking the side-netting. Late in the first half, Bayern appealed for a penalty for Kane, but the claims were rejected, keeping the score level at the interval.
Stuttgart came out with greater intensity after the break and initially pressed Bayern back. However, Bayern struck first against the flow of play in the 55th minute. Michael Olise carried the ball down the right and reached the byline, and a deflected cross allowed Kane to beat Alexander Nubel with a close-range header.
A delay followed due to smoke drifting across the pitch from flares in the Bayern section. When play resumed, Kompany’s side created a clear chance to extend the lead. Nubel parried an effort from Luis Diaz, and Konrad Laimer arrived for the rebound, but Laimer shot over the bar from a promising position.
Bayern tightened control in the final stages and added a second goal on 80 minutes. Kane first hit the woodwork from distance, then, just nine seconds later, collected a pass from Diaz. Kane took a neat touch and guided a precise shot into the bottom-right corner, leaving Stuttgart with too much to do in the closing minutes.
The scoring was completed deep into stoppage time. Olise sent in another low delivery from the right and the ball struck Angelo Stiller’s arm, leading to a penalty. Kane took responsibility and converted from the spot to seal the hat-trick and confirm Bayern’s 3-0 win in the DFB-Pokal final.

Overall, Bayern’s second-half surge showed clearly in the data. Kompany’s team produced 11 shots worth 2.36 expected goals, compared with Stuttgart’s eight attempts and 0.36 expected goals. The figures backed the impression that Bayern grew stronger as the match progressed and limited Stuttgart’s threat after the interval.
The result gave Bayern a second domestic trophy for 2025-26 and highlighted Kane’s influence during the season. With the DFB-Pokal secured, Bayern ended the campaign with statistical dominance in the final, a new entry on the competition’s scoring list for Kane and renewed confidence under Kompany moving into the next year.
