Roy Keane is sceptical about Manchester United's chances of finishing in the Premier League's top four this season under Ruben Amorim. Following a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town, Keane expressed doubts about the team's quality. He believes Amorim needs time to make improvements at Old Trafford but doesn't see them reaching the top four this season.
Keane told Sky Sports, "You have to give the man a chance. But the threat going forward, it's a huge problem for Man Utd. It's not good enough. Do I believe they have the quality to get them back to top four? Absolutely not. The evidence is not there. It's the same old stuff. Predictable and a real lack of quality."

In their match against Ipswich, Manchester United managed only 0.9 expected goals (xG) compared to Ipswich's 1.75. They had fewer shots on target, with four compared to Ipswich's six at Portman Road. Despite having more touches in the opposition box (16 to 11), they fell short in final-third entries (48 to 61) and big chances created (two to three).
Kieran McKenna, Ipswich's manager, praised his team for their resilience after conceding an early goal. He highlighted Omari Hutchinson's performance, noting his first Premier League goal as a significant achievement. McKenna remarked on Hutchinson's ability as a winger and his potential threat when playing centrally.
The Tractor Boys' manager also noted that despite an early setback, his team grew stronger as the first half progressed. He believed they were dominant and deserved at least a level score by halftime. However, he acknowledged that Manchester United gained more control in the second half.
McKenna stated, "I thought we were the dominant team in the first half and deserved to be going in at least level. Second half in fairness, Man Utd had more control. It was difficult; we had to defend with real discipline on shape."
Amorim made history by becoming only the second permanent manager in Premier League history whose team scored within two minutes of his debut match, joining David Moyes who achieved this with Everton in March 2002.
The road ahead for Manchester United appears challenging under Amorim's leadership this season. With Keane's concerns about their attacking capabilities and overall quality, it remains uncertain if they can secure a top-four finish.
