Brentford have announced Keith Andrews as their new head coach following Thomas Frank's departure to Tottenham Hotspur. Andrews, who joined Brentford last summer as a set-piece coach, has signed a three-year contract. This marks his first role as a head coach, although he has previously coached at Sheffield United, MK Dons, and with the Republic of Ireland.
Brentford finished 10th in the Premier League last season with 56 points. They were close to securing European qualification until late in the campaign. However, Andrews faces potential squad changes next season. Goalkeeper Mark Flekken, who led the league with 153 saves last season, has moved to Bayer Leverkusen and been replaced by Caoimhin Kelleher.
Andrews expressed gratitude for the support from the club's owner, board, and staff. "I'm very appreciative of the owner, the board and the staff that have supported this decision," said Andrews. He is eager to embrace this opportunity and believes he is ready for the challenge.

The new head coach is excited about the club's potential and aims to play competitive football. "We want to play winning football, we want to be competitive," he stated. Andrews emphasised playing dynamic football while maintaining organisation.
Brentford may see more changes in their squad. Captain Christian Norgaard is reportedly nearing a move to Arsenal. Meanwhile, Bryan Mbeumo, who had 27 direct goal involvements last season—only behind Mohamed Salah (47) and Alexander Isak (29)—is attracting interest from Manchester United and Spurs.
Andrews highlighted his vision for Brentford: "We want to have huge moments, huge games." He stressed the importance of maintaining an attitude of progression daily.
The club's ambition remains high under Andrews' leadership. He aims for Brentford to have an edge in their gameplay while fostering a relentless pursuit of success.
