By MyKhel Staff

Kerala Blasters' interim head coach TG Purushothaman says there are a lot of positives for the club in this season, on which they can work ahead of the final ISL match against Hyderabad FC.

The Blasters are already out of the ISL playoffs race and will conclude their season with a trip to Hyderabad, and ahead of the match, Purushothaman praised some of the performances, but also conceded the lack of results.

"It's a key, a lot of things [were positives]. The main important things are the development of a few players to the level, many players made it and we had a better performance in a lot of matches, but the results didn't come to us, that's only the negative thing that we faced," the KBFC coach said.

"There were a lot of efforts from the players as a unit, they had fantastic performances throughout some matches. The results weren't there but the performances were positive. The effort from the players is appreciable," he added.

The Kerala coach also cited the developments of Hormipam Ruivah and Korou Singh, who have made their marks for the team this season. Ruivah had yet another decent season under him at the club, while Korou Singh has made 6 goal contributions in the ISL.

When asked about giving opportunities to young players, the KBFC coach says they would continue to promote young talents and develop them for their deserved level.

"It doesn't depend on last of first match. Kerala Blasters always gives opportunities to youngsters. This is how we bring youngsters to the level, to the ISL and to the national team. Obviously, we have some very good youngsters, and we will keep on doing good things to develop them to the level where they deserve," the coach concluded.

The Blasters have been under the pump the whole season for yet another disappointing outing in the ISL. With just 8 wins out of 23 matches, they are currently placed 8th in the table and can finish as low as 11th if things go south in Hyderabad.

They will be playing in the Super Cup up next and the Blasters head coach is positive about the next phase of the season and wants to give everything in the competition.

It's our last chance to end the season in a perfect way. We will do everything to get that trophy back to our cabinet. Let's try for that and we are preparing for that. We are preparing for that from the last two matches," the Kerala coach concluded.
