Kerala Blasters vs Shillong Lajong Live Score, Kalinga Super Cup 2024: KBFC 3-1 SLFC at Full Time!

A comfortable win for Kerala Blasters at the end as Shillong Lajong quickly surrendered in the second half with Mohammad Aimen scoring from the restart. Kwame Peprah, however, was the star of the afternoon as he scored twice in the first half when Shillong Lajong were more on even terms with the ISL leaders.
We end our Live coverage on that note but do join us in the evening when NothEast United take on Jamshedpur FC in the evening clash on the main pitch.

The referee blows the full time and KBFC runs victor with a 3-1 win with that man there, Kwame Peprah scoring a brace to kick-off Kerala's Super Cup campaign in Group B
90+4' Danish Farooq loses the ball in KBFC's defensive third, allowing Denzing quickly put Douglas through to the goal but Danish makes a brilliant recover to get enough deflection on the ball to take it out of play!
90+3' Renan Paulino shoots from outside the box but hits the advertisement board following a build up from the left wing by Lajong. Too late for that as the match seems out of SLFC's reach! KBFC 3-1 SLFC
90+1' Five minutes of stoppage time added. Seems futile as Shillong Lajong have surrendered while the game is bogged down in the middle of the park!
88' Kwame Peprah is adjudged Hero of the match!
87' Shillong Lajong continue to disappoint in the second half with stray passing and surrender to pressing all around the park! At the moment KBFC are winning all the second ball on the offer!
84' Bryce Miranda has taken up left-wing position since coming on and has made two solo runs so far but hasn't provided any quality delivery into the box! KBFC 3-1 SLFC
83' Substitutions by both managers. Vukomanovic makes two of them as he sends in Bryce Miranda and Sandeep for Prabir and Daisuke. Wadjied comes on for Karim in the Lajong half! KBFC 3-1 SLFC
78' It is all Danish Farooq show at the moment as he is the fulcrum around whom KBFC are keeping all the possession in the midfield while dictating the tempo of the play. SLFC, at the same time, are not looking to eager to attack! KBFC 3-1 SLFC
76' SLFC coach Bobby Nongbet sends in Sangti Sianglong for Kynshaibor Lhuid as the time is fast running out for the I-League side!
74' A rare and toothless attack from SLFC from right as fullback Ronney plays substitute Denzil through on the wings for a cross but the ball goes straight to Sachin for a practice catch! KBFC 3-1 SLFC
72' Danish Farooq turns provider again with a brilliantly weighted ball for Saurav Mandal on the right wing! The substitute sends in a cross, which is deflected and hit the near post before going out for a corner kick!
70' Diamantakos shoots from outside the box with his favoured left foot after Danish Farooq wins the ball outside the box! The effort wasn't too far from the post!
68' Daisuke wins KBFC's third corner as his intended cross from the left is deflected away for Kynsai! The resulting corner was taken by the Japanese as well but wasn't his best of effort again! KBFC 3-1 SLFC
66' Kwame Peprah and Mohammad Azhar are taken off for Bidyasagar and Yohenba as coach Vukomanovic is trying out his squad depth with a safe scoreline!
64' Change of referee as fourth official Harish Kundu takes over the match refereeing duty for the rest of the game. KBFC 3-1 SLFC
63' The game is halted momentarily as the referee is injured and has approached the medical officials for a magical spray on his shin!
61' KBFC make first change as Saurav Mandal comes on for Aimen, who hops off the field. Hopefully just a niggle as the player has been crucial for the Yellow Army! KBFC 3-1 SLFC
58' Kwame Peprah makes a solo run on the left wing to start a counter! Diamantakos runs into the box expecting a cross. Peprah obliges but sends it behind a rushing Greek instead of rolling it in front of him. Should have shown more quality there after all that hard work!
55' It's all KBFC at the moment as they are keeping a long spell of possession in the Lajong half while the I-League side is forced to defend deep. It looks more like a defensive possession as KBFC are controlling the tempo of the game and probably are trying to see out the match. KBFC 3-1 SLFC
53' Kwame Peprah shoots from a tight angle off target after he was played the ball inside the box following a buildup from the right wing! Diamantakos isn't too happy with that effort as he was waiting at the far post for a delivery
52' The game is bogged down in the middle with both sides unable to find their way through into the box!
49' Looks like the Aimen goal has shattered the Lajong confidence as they are not showing the intensity that was expected of them in the second half.
Confirmation on the two substitutions at the break Allan and Paga made place for Denzil and Saveme in the line-up! KBFC 3-1 SLFC
46' Kerala Blasters kill the game instantly from the restart as Mohammad Aimen makes it 3-1 with a header on the far post following a perfect cross by Daisuke Sakai from the right!
46' The second half action begins!

Two changes at the break by Lajong as Bobby Nongbet sends in Denzil and Saveme

With two neutral sides playing in Bhubaneswar, we don't have much of a crowd at the venue
Kwame Peprah was certainly the star of the first half with two goals. However, the likes of Diamantakos, Prabir Das, Aimen and Daisuke has been impressive too as KBFC look serious for a title challenge

Half-Time Analysis: What a first half it was with three goals in it and a lot of end-to-end action. KBFC must be ruing the missed chances as they could have scored more than two goals, including a strike by Diamantakos hitting the crossbar.
SLFC have been no spectators either as their attacks from the right and the combination of Karim and Douglas up front kept KBFC defense under pressure. Karim, despite winning the penalty for the opening goal for SLFC, was at fault for not making his chances count on at least two situations!
The Group B action kicks off on Wednesday (December 10) as ISL leaders Kerala Blasters take on I-League side Shillong Lajong at the Kalinga Stadium Pitch 1 in Bhubaneswar.
This is the first of the two Group B matches in Kalinga Super Cup 2024 today as NorthEast United and Jamshedpur FC will square off on the main pitch of the Kalinga Stadium later in the evening. Every point earned is crucial as only one of the four teams will qualify for the semifinal at the end of the group stages.
Every point earned is crucial as only one of the four teams will qualify for the semifinal at the end of the group stages. Kerala Blasters's dismal showing in the Durand Cup meant their form in the Cup tournament is in doubt but they recovered magnificently in the Indian Super League to continue their good run of play despite multiple injuries all season long.
They are now two points ahead of FC Goa with 26 points in 12 games under their belt. But head coach Ivan Vukomanovic will be missing Rahul KP and Pritam Kotal for this match while their lucky charm Adrian Luna is also injured. That being said, Jeakson Singh's comeback gives the Blasters a big boost as they want to continue their winning run.
Kerala Blasters, however, will be largely pinning their hopes on Dimitrios Diamantakos, who scored seven goals and assisted two more in the ISL. He was backed by the raw pace of Kwame Peprah as the partnership gained momentum before the winter break as the side defeated direct rivals Mohun Bagan, Mumbai City FC.
In the meantime, Shillong Lajong FC has also started the season well after winning promotion to the I-League the previous year. They are now one point behind Real Kashmir FC in second place in the I-League standings, having taken up fifth place. This is notably the first time these two teams have ever faced each other, and it is especially important for Lajong because it gives them important experience playing against a top ISL squad.
