Bengaluru, August 3: The Kerala Government on Thursday (August 3) decided to appoint footballer C K Vineeth in a state government post on par with the Secretariat Assistant.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced this decision on his official twitter handle.

Vineeth was removed from the Central Government service for irregular attendance. He was an employee of the Accountant General's office.

The Kerala Government had appealed to the Centre to revoke the decision but to no avail.

"His absence and the subsquent irregular attendance was because of training and match schedule," said the Kerala Chief Minister.
