Football fans across India were heartbroken when legend and former captain Sunil Chhetri announced his retirement from international football in late May. His last match for the Indian football team was the India vs Kuwait, World Cup qualifiers game. Fans were not only curious about the team's future but also the player’s future plans.
It seems that fans now have the answer to one of those questions. It seems Sunil Chhetri is now beginning the next part of his life as a panelist for Sony for this Euro 2024. He was recently asked about how he's feeling about this new role and he showed his excitement.

Chhetri said, “Well, I'm excited. Amani was gonna watch the Euros, so why not with different personalities, different footballers, ex-footballers? It's fun. I'm pretty sure you'll agree. If you're watching Euros alone at night, imagine you're watching with six or seven friends and discussing and quarreling and arguing, putting bets and all that stuff.”
He added, “It's fun and if you can do it in studios and also can come to television and share your views with so many people watching, it's nice. Generally, you don't do it if it's too late and you're gonna sleep. But if you're gonna watch it, why not do it in a studio?”
Chhetri devoted almost two decades of his life to the Indian football team. His contribution to India will never be forgotten. He was the captain who led the Blue Tigers through many victories where they had no hopes. He is still the fourth-highest goalscorer in international football in the world.
Indian football fans everywhere are sad that the skipper can never again be seen on the ground donning the Indian team jersey. However, fans will also be happy to see the legend on their screens with his expert opinion on Euro 2024. His next adventure after his departure from international football seems to have begun already.
