'Kohli called Rahul Dravid...': Ashwin speaks about the best moment of T20 World Cup Victory
The Indian cricket team registered a historic T20 World Cup win in West Indies last month. Rohit Sharma and his troops beat South Africa in the final to win the World Cup after 17 years.
A plethora of emotional moments took over the nation as the scenes in Barbados shall remain immortal in the cricketing folklore of this nation. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja announced their retirement from T20 format, while coach Rahul Dravid also had his last involvement with the team.

And amid all the emotional whirlwind, Indian spin maestro Ravichandran Ashwin shared a touching moment involving former Indian head coach Rahul Dravid. Dravid, who led India to their first major trophy in 11 years, was seen hugging the ICC T20 World Cup and crying after the victory. This emotional scene marked the end of Dravid's tenure as head coach.
This victory was particularly significant for Dravid, who had never won a major ICC World Cup trophy as a player or captain. His final assignment as coach turned out to be a triumphant one, and the celebrations from the India legend was a treat to the eye of the billions.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ashwin recounted, "My moment was when Virat Kohli called Rahul Dravid and gave the cup. I saw him hug the cup and cry. Rahul Dravid screamed and cried. I saw him enjoy it. I felt that a lot."
Ashwin further elaborated on his admiration for Dravid's resilience despite facing numerous challenges throughout his career. He highlighted how Dravid had been criticised during setbacks like India's early exit from the 2007 50-over World Cup.
Ashwin praised Dravid's dedication to the team over the past few years, noting how he had transformed their approach. "I know what he has been doing with this team for the past two-three years. I know how balanced he has been," Ashwin said.
He continued, "I know how hard he has worked to change this approach. I know what he has given each of his players. Even when he is just sitting at home, he has been planning how to do this and that."
