Mohun Bagan played without a lot of key players due to injuries for a major part of the ISL 2023-24 first half. However, with the Indian Super League resuming after a month-long break, most injured players will be back.
The Mariners will begin the second half of the season with the most-awaited Kolkata derby. As they are set to be back with an almost full squad, a few players can change the course of the game. Mykhel takes a look at three Mohun Bagan players that East Bengal need to watch out for

Dimitri Petratos
Dimitri Petratos has probably been the best player for Mohun Bagan this season. His ability to create beautiful attacking chances and find players in the final third with innovative passes at times has helped the Mariners in several games.
He is also dangerous in set-pieces and could churn out dangerous situations during corners. Hence, it's no wonder that he has 8 goals and 5 assists to his name from 20 games in all competitions this season.
Sahal Abdul Samad
Sahal Abdul Samad is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with in the Mariners' final third. Before he became injured in December, he was able to provide 4 assists in 6 Indian Super League games for Mohun Bagan which is no small feat.
He became fully fit during India's AFC Asian Cup campaign in Qatar. He came off the bench to play 26 minutes in their last game against Syria. Considering his playmaking qualities, coach Habas could call him up instead of Hugo Boumous.
Anirudh Thapa
Anirudh Thapa has not been in his best form in this Indian Super League season. However, he still possesses an amazing pressing ability, and his understanding of the game can still cause problems for East Bengal.
That was enough for India football team coach Igor Stimac to take him to Qatar. Thapa could not flourish under coach Juan Ferrando. However, it could be a completely different story under new coach Antonio Habas.
