East Bengal precede new rule in Kolkata Derby ticket prices; Mohun Bagan fans charged more

There are already several issues regarding the upcoming Kolkata derby and more seems to be piling on. The hosts East Bengal begin the war by setting two different sets of ticket prices between their fans and Mohun Bagan fans which has taken the fans by storm.

As per Anandabazar Online, East Bengal investor Emami commented on the matter saying that in the last derby, the ticket prices were different for East Bengal and Mohun Bagan fans and East Bengal fans’ ticket prices were more than that of Mariners. They just followed suit this time.

However, it can be confirmed that that wasn't the case for the last Kolkata derby match that was held on February 3. It is true that the ticket prices for that match were higher than other matches, but it was the same price for both sets of fans.

Mohun Bagan were the host for that match. It is also important to note that as the ticket prices were high in that match, they made the ticket prices absolutely free for everyone for their next match against Hyderabad FC on February 10.

As per InsideSport, Mohun Bagan commented on the matter saying in the last 103 years of Kolkata derby, this has never happened and it is shameful and against the spirit of the game. They will take a decision if they will follow suit hereafter in the next derby matches where they will be the hosts.
