Kylian Mbappe has joined Real Madrid, as it was announced on Monday (June 3). The France international is the first signing of the Spanish giants this season.
Mbappe has officially ended his seven-year tenure at PSG to join the Champions League winners. The French forward is now set to earn a significant amount from his first contract with Real Madrid. Mbappe left PSG as a free agent this summer, sparking much speculation about his next move.

Despite interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, Real Madrid emerged as the most likely destination. Mbappe, now heading to the La Liga and Champions League winners, will see his earnings come under scrutiny.
Mbappe will earn just over £250,000 weekly after tax in Madrid, which is around Rs. 2.65 crore in Indian currency. His annual salary will be £12.8 million (Rs 136 crore) after tax. Additionally, he will receive a substantial signing-on bonus. While Sky Sports reports the bonus at around £85m, the BBC suggests it could be £128m.
Interestingly, the France international has taken a significant pay cut from his previous earnings at PSG. His last contract at the French club was worth 60 million pounds, which means he has taken almost 80 percent pay cut to join the Spanish club.
Kylian Mbappe has signed a five-year contract with Real Madrid, tying him to the Santiago Bernabeu until 2029. Currently, 25 years old, Mbappe may still play for the Spanish giants when he is 30, with options to increase the length of his contract further in coming years.
Mbappe is currently on international duty with France. The striker is expected to lead the line for Les Bleus in the Euro 2024.
Kylian Mbappe's dream and aim was to play for Real Madrid. Although the player had been linked with a move to the Spanish club for some time, it couldn't materialise at the last time as PSG extended the deal. Mbappe always wanted to play for the Los Blancos and hereby he was ready to sacrifice his wages to join the Spanish Giants.
Also, the Spanish club didn't pay him those astronomical numbers of PSG to avoid internal disturbances. They wanted the team bonding to be perfect, hence Mbappe was told to take a pay cut, which the French striker obliged.
