Kylian Mbappe Sues PSG For Harassment Amid Unpaid Wages Dispute

French football star Kylian Mbappe has launched legal action against his former club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), alleging moral harassment during his final season in the French capital. The 26-year-old forward has also taken separate legal steps to claim approximately £55 million in unpaid wages from the Ligue 1 side.

Mbappe's complaint revolves around his treatment during the 2023-24 campaign, when he was excluded from the main squad and forced to train with players PSG were attempting to offload. The situation arose after Mbappe declined to extend his contract, prompting the club to omit him from their pre-season tour and isolate him from the first-team group.

Following a lengthy standoff, the World Cup winner eventually departed PSG at the end of the season, joining Real Madrid on a free transfer ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. His seven-year stint at PSG concluded with over 300 appearances and 256 goals to his name.

Now part of the Real Madrid setup, Mbappe returned to training on Wednesday after recovering from a bout of gastroenteritis. The illness had ruled him out of the Spanish club's recent Club World Cup group matches against Al Hilal and Pachuca. His return comes at a crucial time, with Madrid preparing to face RB Salzburg at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

In the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup hosted in North America, Real Madrid currently top Group H with four points from two games. They began their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Saudi side Al Hilal, with Gonzalo Garcia opening the scoring before Ruben Neves equalized. Madrid bounced back in their second fixture with a commanding 3-1 win over Pachuca, even after being reduced to 10 men early on following a red card for Raul Asencio. Goals from Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler, and Federico Valverde sealed the win, while Elias Montiel scored a consolation goal for the Mexican side.

Al Hilal sit third in the group with two points from two draws, while Pachuca remain at the bottom. Madrid's next match against RB Salzburg will determine their place in the tournament's knockout stage.
