A nightclub evening has turned sour for Kylian Mbappe, as the France star has been accused of raping a woman.
Kylian Mbappe has now become the focus of a police investigation in Sweden over allegations of rape, as Swedish newspapers Aftonbladet and Expressen have reported.

The incident reportedly took place in Stockholm's city center, where Mbappe, who had not been called up for France's Nations League fixtures, was spending leisure time with friends.
The group visited a local restaurant and nightclub last Thursday, leaving Sweden the subsequent Friday. According to Aftonbladet, a formal complaint regarding rape was lodged with the police on Saturday, a day after Mbappe's departure, with the victim seeking medical assistance shortly after the alleged event. However, the identity of the accused was not immediately disclosed until Expressen later indicated that Mbappe was the suspect in question.
Despite the grave nature of these accusations, Mbappe vehemently denied the claims, labeling them as "fake news" on his X (formerly Twitter) account. He suggested the timing of these allegations, surfacing just before a scheduled hearing with a French league committee regarding a financial dispute with Paris Saint-Germain, was suspiciously coincidental.
Expressen's coverage detailed that Mbappe is under investigation for suspicions of rape and sexual assault. Swedish law categorizes suspicion levels into "reasonable" and "probable," with the former being the lesser degree and the current classification of Mbappe's case. Following the surfacing of these allegations, a prosecutor involved in the investigation confirmed to AFP that an inquiry concerning a reported crime on October 10 in central Stockholm was actively ongoing.
Mbappe's camp has firmly denied any wrongdoing, unaware of any formal legal complaints against him. In response to the spreading allegations, they criticized the "slanderous" and "unacceptable" nature of the reports, vowing to take all necessary legal steps to correct Mbappe's image if he faces any issue.
Mbappe finds himself embroiled in a bitter financial dispute with his former club, PSG, over claimed unpaid wages amounting to 55 million euros ($60 million), a conflict that adds a layer of complexity to the current allegations. The French player has also questioned the timing of the allegations.
Despite the swirling controversy, a source close to PSG has dismissed any connection between the allegations in Sweden and Mbappe's ongoing dispute with the club.
