Bengaluru, April 2: La Liga game week 29 kicked off on Saturday (April 1) with Catalan side Espanyol beating Real Betis 2-1 in an inconsequential mid-table clash.

Athletic Bilbao defeated Osasuna 2-1 away from home and Real Sociedad were held to a 1-1 draw by Leganes.

In the important clash of the day, Atletico Madrid defeated Malaga 2-0. They now climb up to the third position with a point lead over Sevilla.

Koke scored the opening goal for Atletico in the 26th minute and Felipe Luis increased the lead in the 74th minute to seal full three points for the visitors.

On Sunday (April 2) both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona won their respective matches convincingly. While Real Madrid registered a 3-0 win over Alaves, Barcelona routed Granada 4-1 away from home.
