Mumbai City FC has announced that Lallianzuala Chhangte has extended his contract until the end of the 2026-27 season.
Since joining the team in January 2022, the left-footed winger has been a key player for both club and country, consistently elevating his game, and the Islanders confirmed his stay for three more seasons at the West Coast.

Chhangte achieved a remarkable feat during the 2023/24 ISL season, matching his previous season's record with 16 goal contributions (10 goals and 6 assists). This made him the first Indian player in ISL history to have over 15 goal contributions in back-to-back seasons.
The "Mizo Flash" has an impressive list of accomplishments, including winning the ISL League Winners' Shield in 2022/23 and playing a crucial role in Mumbai City FC's ISL Cup victory during the 2023/24 season. He scored vital goals in the semi-final and was awarded the Golden Ball in the ISL 2022/23 and the Golden Boot in the Durand Cup 2022. Chhangte also holds an eight-game goal-scoring streak in the ISL, which is the longest for an Indian player. Additionally, he is only the second Indian after Sunil Chhetri to have a goal contribution against every ISL opponent.
In 2022, Chhangte was part of the historic AFC Champions League campaign where Mumbai City FC became the first Indian club to register wins and finish second in their group.
After penning the new deal, Chhangte says he had no doubts in mind about extending his stay at the club. The Indian winger was ecstatic to continue playing for the ISL champions.
"I had no doubts in my mind about extending my stay with Mumbai City FC for the upcoming seasons. The fans are immense, and so is the family at the club. I am grateful to God that we have been able to repay that love with good football and trophies. There are many more stories to tell over the next few years, and I hope to be the best version of myself every day for my Mumbai City FC family," Chhangte said to the club's media.
