Lampard confident about moving up Chelsea's all-time scoring charts

London, Oct.7 (ANI): England midfielder Lampard is suffering an unusual slump this season, having not found the net in 10 games, but is confident about topping the goal scoring chart for Celsea sooner than later.

According to the Daily Express, Lampard has scored 20 goals or more in each of his last four seasons for Chelsea.

His next goal will make him Chelsea's fifth highest scorer in history, edging past Jimmy Greaves with whom he is level on 132 goals.

Lampard does have frequent lulls in scoring, but usually over five or six games, though there was another 10-game break during last season's dismal autumn under Luiz Felipe Scolari.

He has been playing a more forward role this season under new manager Carlo Ancelotti, often at the tip of the diamond, but he refuses to blame this switch for his thin patch.

Lampard said: "The only difference for me this season is that I've found myself a bit further forward earlier on in games. But I don't think the amount of chances I have been getting has changed. They just haven't gone in for me so far. But there are always these patches in a season and you just have to get through that.

"Sometimes it gets frustrating when you get three or four opportunities and still don't score. But I know there will be games later on in the season and it will go in." Lampard added that top-class players should be able to adapt to any system, " he added. (ANI)
