Lea Schuller Joins Manchester United Women From Bayern Munich To Bolster Attack

Germany forward Lea Schuller has joined Manchester United Women from Bayern Munich on a three-and-a-half year contract, adding goal threat and Champions League experience as United build in the January window.

Germany forward Lea Schuller completes a move to Manchester United from Bayern Munich, becoming the club’s second January transfer addition after Hanna Lundkvist. Manchester United currently sit fourth in the Women’s Super League, nine points behind leaders Manchester City, and see Schuller as a key attacking option for the title race.

The 28-year-old signs a three-and-a-half-year contract that runs until June 2029, giving Manchester United long-term security in the forward line. Schuller arrives after five seasons with Bayern, where the striker featured in more than 100 matches, collected four league titles and built a strong scoring record with 54 international goals for Germany.

Lea Schuller signs for Man United Women

From the first conversations that I had with [manager] Marc [Skinner] and the club, the ambitions of everyone here were very clear, said Schuller. I still have so much that I want to achieve in my career, and I know that Manchester United is the perfect club to join. I feel that the team's style of football will really suit my game. I hope my qualities and experience can help us to achieve our aims both in England and in the Champions League.

Schuller’s comments underline belief in Marc Skinner’s project and the squad’s attacking style. The forward expects the system to match personal strengths, offering movement in and around the penalty area. Manchester United will look to use Schuller’s club and international experience as the team target trophies domestically and in the Champions League.

With Bayern honours and Germany goals behind Schuller, Manchester United gain a proven finisher during a crucial stage of the season. The January arrival, alongside Hanna Lundkvist, strengthens depth across the pitch as Manchester United attempt to close the gap on Manchester City while building a group capable of competing in Europe through 2029.
