Players Rally Behind Lee Carsley For Full-Time England Manager Role
Morgan Gibbs-White is confident that Lee Carsley is the ideal candidate for the England managerial role and has expressed his support for Carsley to secure the permanent position. Gibbs-White, along with Angel Gomes, Tino Livramento, and Noni Madueke, has been included in Carsley's first England squad for the Nations League campaign. The Nottingham Forest captain played a crucial role under Carsley in the U21s, making 15 appearances and contributing to their Under-21 European Championship victory last year.
During the tournament in Romania and Georgia, England won all six matches, scoring 11 goals and exceeding their expected goals (xG) by 2.5. Their defensive strength was equally vital as they did not concede any goals from 79 shots faced. This impressive performance under Carsley's guidance has bolstered Gibbs-White's belief that Carsley is a strong contender for the permanent England manager position.

"I know how he works; he's a great manager tactically, man-management is great," said Gibbs-White. "I was buzzing when I found out that he got the job as he really deserved it, and I feel like it suits him perfectly. Hopefully, the games go well for him, and you never know what the future holds."
Noni Madueke, another player promoted from England U21, also believes in Carsley's potential to excel in his new role. The Chelsea winger made 19 appearances under Carsley, second only to Taylor Harwood-Belis who had 21 caps. Madueke praised Carsley's ability to communicate his ideas effectively and make them easy to understand.
"He has great ideas, and he is also able to implement the way he wants to play, like in your mind, and make it easy for you," Madueke told BBC Radio 5 Live. "I feel as though all of the top managers have that. Definitely I couldn't speak more highly of him."
Upcoming Nations League Matches
England will kick off their Nations League campaign against the Republic of Ireland in League B Group 2 before hosting Finland on Tuesday. Madueke expressed his confidence in Carsley's knowledge of the FA system and compared him to Gareth Southgate.
"I feel as though he knows the pathway; he knows the system," Madueke added. "He knows the FA; he has been working at the FA for a long time. [He is] similar to Gareth [Southgate] in that sense, so I hope he can do extremely well. I have got all the belief in him for sure."
The upcoming matches will be crucial for both players and fans as they look forward to seeing how Carsley performs with this new squad.
