Leeds United concluded their pre-season with a 1-1 draw against AC Milan at Dublin's Aviva Stadium. Santiago Gimenez scored first for Milan in the opening half, but Leeds equalised through Anton Stach after halftime. Despite opportunities for both teams, neither could secure a win. The Serie A team initially dominated but only broke through in the 31st minute when Vittorio Magni set up Gimenez to score.

Leeds improved significantly in the second half, controlling possession and eventually levelling the score. Stach received the ball on the left wing, cut inside, and curled it into the bottom-right corner. Milan struggled to create chances after the break, with Leeds keeping them pinned back. Massimiliano Allegri's side managed their first shot of the half only in the 84th minute.

Elsewhere, Everton faced disappointment at Hill Dickinson Stadium, losing 1-0 to Roma. Both goalkeepers were busy, with Jordan Pickford making five saves compared to Mile Svilar's four. Matias Soule scored for Roma after 70 minutes by bending the ball around Pickford into the far corner.

Atalanta did not fare well in their friendly against Koln, suffering a 4-0 defeat. Koln extended their unbeaten run ahead of their Bundesliga season with this win. Jan Thielmann scored twice, while Jakub Kaminski and Luca Waldschmidt added goals for Koln, who had previously won 7-0 against Siegburger.

Milan's Tactical Decisions

Milan will face Chelsea next in another friendly match on Sunday. Allegri rotated his squad for this game; Rafael Leao was absent while Luka Modric, Fikayo Tomori, and Mike Maignan remained unused substitutes. Despite creating chances, Milan's inefficiency was evident as they recorded an expected goals (xG) of 1.15 compared to Leeds' 0.25 in the first half but only scored once.

Gimenez emerged as Milan's key player in Leao's absence, taking three shots and having two significant chances. However, Milan's inability to convert opportunities cost them dearly against Leeds' resilient defence led by Lucas Perri.
