Leeds United faced disappointment as they were eliminated from the FA Cup by Millwall, losing 2-0 at Elland Road. This defeat marked Leeds' first home loss in the competition since a third-round replay against Arsenal in January 2011, ending their six-game unbeaten streak at home in the FA Cup.
Millwall's Femi Azeez opened the scoring after 30 minutes. His shot deflected off Josuha Guilavogui, wrong-footing Leeds' goalkeeper Karl Darlow. Azeez then doubled Millwall's lead ten minutes into the second half, scoring from a pass by Casper De Norre.

Leeds had a chance to cut the deficit when Luke Cundle fouled Wilfried Gnonto in the box. However, Pascal Struijk's penalty was saved by Liam Roberts, leaving Leeds unable to score. The missed penalty was a crucial moment in the match.
Daniel Farke expressed his thoughts post-match, acknowledging missed chances and emphasising the need to move forward quickly. "We need to move on quickly. I know when you're not at your best pace it's not always that easy," he stated. He urged his players not to dwell too much on this setback.
"It's important the players don't take this defeat too seriously. We should be disappointed, but on my side, no moaning about this," Farke added. He noted that while motivation was high, it might have led to overexertion.
Farke highlighted squad rotation as a factor affecting team performance. "Overall, I mentioned before the game that to rotate is necessary and important to do this," he said. Changing ten players impacted their fluidity and contributed to their struggles during the match.
The manager also pointed out logistical challenges faced by his team: "The players went to bed at 3am on Thursday... so we have many changes." Despite these issues, he praised his team's effort until the final whistle.
This victory propelled Millwall into the fifth round of the FA Cup for the first time since 2018-19 when they reached the quarter-finals. The Lions have achieved three consecutive away wins across all competitions this season for the first time since March 2018 under Neil Harris.
The match underscored Millwall's strong form and ability to capitalise on opportunities, setting them up for further success in their FA Cup campaign.
