Leeds United earned a valuable 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace, playing more than half the match with 10 players and moving three points clear of the Premier League relegation zone after a tense defensive display at Selhurst Park.
Daniel Farke highlighted the character shown by Leeds United, describing the defensive effort as a major factor in securing the clean sheet, after Gabriel Gudmundsson was sent off during first-half stoppage time to leave the visitors under heavy pressure for the entire second period.

I would trust my lads with my life, Farke said.We are not perfect, but the mentality in the dressing room is second to none. In the circumstances, in a difficult away game, we defended the whole time and we didn't give any chances away. Fantastic spirit, defending, clean sheet, and a point away. I am just proud of how we defended. Even in the second half, there were even moments where we thought we could win the game.
Oliver Glasner saw Crystal Palace fail to hit the target once, and admitted the home side lacked sharp decision-making in attack, while also accepting that Leeds United’s organised shape and strong physical presence made the contest awkward despite the numerical advantage.
Before Gudmundsson’s dismissal changed the momentum, Leeds United produced the better chances, pressing high and forcing errors, yet a crucial moment passed when Dominic Calvert-Lewin missed a first-half penalty that would have put the visitors ahead and further complicated Crystal Palace’s evening.
After the interval, Leeds United focused almost entirely on protecting the penalty area, surviving when Jefferson Lerma’s close-range header was disallowed for offside, while Crystal Palace pushed bodies forward but struggled to create clear openings, leaving home supporters frustrated by the lack of cutting edge.

On Gudmundsson's red card, he added:Everyone in the stadium can see [it was the wrong decision]. It was doubtful if it was even a foul. For me, it was a clear mistake.
For Crystal Palace, this was a second straight goalless home match under Glasner, following Thursday’s 0-0 draw against AEK Larnaca, though another clean sheet extended a cautious unbeaten run, while Leeds United could point to disciplined defending as justification for their tactical approach.
We could have done better, but we know that sometimes it can be more difficult [playing 10 men], Glasnersaid. In a few other games, we have been in a similar situation. We were getting nervous and making the wrong decisions. We weren't clinical enough in the final third. In the end, a point and another clean sheet. It is progress. It's not so easy, especially when Leeds are so organised and so physical. Sometimes, you need a player who will win in a one-v-onesituation, but to be honest, we don't have plenty of them.At the end, a draw is fair. Credit to Leeds for how they defended. We take this point.
With both teams leaving with a point, Leeds United gained a small cushion above the drop zone, while Crystal Palace extended a scoreless home sequence, and the match will be remembered more for disciplined defending and contentious refereeing than for clear attacking quality.
