Leeds United reclaimed the top spot in the Championship after a tense 2-0 victory over Millwall at Elland Road. Sheffield United had briefly overtaken Leeds following their 1-1 draw with Bristol City, but Daniel Farke's team secured a two-point lead with their win. The match began with an early goal as Millwall captain Jake Cooper inadvertently turned Manor Solomon's cross into his own net just three minutes in.

Brenden Aaronson nearly doubled Leeds' lead, forcing Lukas Jensen to make a save at his near post. Ao Tanaka also came close, sending a long-range shot wide before the half-hour mark. Joel Piroe thought he had scored another for Leeds, but his goal was disallowed due to an offside call during the build-up. Despite Millwall's strong defense, Solomon struck the crossbar with a powerful attempt in the second half.

Leeds sealed their victory five minutes from time when Junior Firpo set up Tanaka, who fired a brilliant shot into the top corner. Meanwhile, Plymouth Argyle achieved their first away win of the season by defeating Portsmouth 2-1 at Fratton Park. Ryan Hardie played a crucial role for Miron Muslic's side, scoring one goal and assisting another, bringing Plymouth within three points of safety.

Plymouth took the lead just before halftime when Michael Obafemi's cross was expertly laid off by Hardie for Mustapha Bundu to score. Shortly after the break, Hardie added to his tally by racing through on goal and finding the net. Although Matthew Sorinola received a red card late in the game, Portsmouth capitalised on their numerical advantage with Adil Aouchiche's header but couldn't find an equaliser.

Hull City and Stoke City also secured important victories at the bottom of the table. Hull came from behind to defeat Oxford United 2-1, moving them above Oxford into 18th place. Stoke ended a five-match winless streak by beating Blackburn Rovers 1-0, denting Blackburn's play-off hopes.
