Leeds United Reclaims Championship Top Spot With Victory Over Derby; Lampard Secures First Win At Coventry

Leeds United returned to the top of the Championship with a 2-0 win against Derby County. Frank Lampard achieved his first victory as Coventry City manager, defeating Millwall 1-0.

Leeds United climbed to the top of the Championship standings after a 2-0 victory over Derby County at Elland Road. Joe Rodon and Max Wober netted their first goals for Leeds, helping Daniel Farke's team recover from a previous 1-0 loss to Blackburn Rovers. Derby County, having only one win in their last ten matches, slipped to 16th place. Leeds surpassed Sheffield United on goal difference.

Frank Lampard secured his first win as Coventry City manager with a 1-0 triumph over Millwall. This victory ended Coventry's five-match winless streak. Ephron Mason-Clark scored the decisive goal, breaking Millwall's nine-match unbeaten run. Lampard took over from Mark Robins last month and has now achieved his inaugural win with the club.

Sunderland managed to break their six-game winless streak by defeating Stoke City 2-1 at the Stadium of Light. Tom Watson was instrumental in this victory, scoring twice for Sunderland. He equalised in the seventh minute after Lewis Koumas had given Stoke an early lead, and later secured the win with a deflected shot just three minutes before the final whistle.

In another match, Blackburn Rovers narrowly defeated Hull City 1-0 due to a Sean McLoughlin own goal. This result kept Blackburn within reach of the top four, trailing Sunderland by four points. Meanwhile, Hull City dropped to the bottom of the table under new manager Ruben Selles, who watched from the stands.

Sunderland's recent success has brought them closer to the top two teams in the league standings. They are now just two points behind second place. The Championship race remains tight as teams continue to battle for promotion spots.

The Championship table is shaping up to be highly competitive this season. With teams like Leeds United and Sunderland making significant strides, fans can expect an exciting race for promotion as the season progresses.
