Leeds United Surrender Two-Goal Lead In Dramatic Championship Draw Against Hull City

Leeds United's position at the top of the Championship is now precarious after a 3-3 draw with Hull City. Despite leading by two goals, they couldn't secure the win. Abu Kamara put Hull ahead early, but Ao Tanaka equalised for Leeds just after halftime. Goals from Daniel James and Joel Piroe gave Leeds a commanding lead, but Hull fought back with Joao Pedro and Kamara ensuring a draw.

Sheffield United maintained pressure on Leeds with a 2-1 win over Watford. Gustavo Hamer scored first for Sheffield in the 13th minute, but Jeremy Ngakia quickly equalised. Andre Brooks restored Sheffield's lead early in the second half, which they held onto. This victory places them third, just one point behind Leeds. Watford's defeat leaves them ninth after their third consecutive loss.

Leeds United Draw After Surrendering Two-Goal Lead

Burnley also closed in on Leeds with a narrow 1-0 victory against Blackburn Rovers. Zian Flemming scored the decisive goal at Ewood Park, heading home from a Bashir Humphreys cross. Despite Blackburn's 11 shots to Burnley's four, Burnley secured second place, trailing Leeds by one point. Blackburn fell to seventh, narrowly outside play-off contention.

Norwich City staged an incredible late comeback to beat Coventry City 2-1. Milan van Ewijk had given Coventry the lead in the 24th minute. However, Forson Amankwah turned the game around for Norwich with goals in stoppage time, scoring in both the 91st and 95th minutes. This result moves Norwich to 11th place while Coventry drops to 15th.

Sheffield Wednesday's Missed Opportunity

Sheffield Wednesday missed a chance to climb higher after drawing 2-2 with Millwall at Hillsborough. Yan Valery opened the scoring early for Wednesday, but Ike Ugbo missed a penalty that could have extended their lead. Millwall capitalised on this miss as George Honeyman equalised and Ryan Wintle put them ahead late on. Gabriel Otegbayo salvaged a point for Wednesday with an equaliser five minutes from time.

The draw leaves Sheffield Wednesday in tenth place, three points behind sixth-placed West Bromwich Albion. For Millwall, it marks Alex Neil’s first point as manager and places them in thirteenth position.

The Championship race remains tight as teams continue to jostle for positions near the top of the table. With only slight differences separating teams like Leeds United and Burnley or Sheffield United and Watford, every match becomes crucial in determining final standings as the season progresses.
