Leicester City vs Chelsea: Preview, Lineups, and TV guide

Leicester, Sep 8: Antonio’s Conte’s Chelsea make the trip to face Leicester City at the King Power Stadium having recorded back-to-back wins over Tottenham Hotspur and Everton in the Premier League after a disappointing start to the campaign losing to Burnley on an opening day.

The Foxes host the defending champions having already lost to both Arsenal and Manchester United on the road, but the East Midlands outfit are a completely different team in front of their own fans.

Chelsea will be looking to make in three wins in a row and put pressure on those above them in the table while Leicester City will be looking to play their best football overcoming the early hindrance of a tricky fixture list so early in the season.

Saturday's encounter represents the 110th time in which these two teams have faced each other in a competitive fixture, with Chelsea recording 54 wins in comparison to just 25 victories for Leicester.

The Foxes avoided defeat in both of their encounters during their title-winning season, but that remains their only success since 2001, with Chelsea being victorious in the other 11 matches.

The corresponding fixture last season ended in a 3-0 success for Chelsea with Alonso and Pedro taking their names on the scoresheet.

Team news:

Leicester City

Deadline day signing Austrian international Aleksandar Dragovic is an option for Craig Shakespeare's Leicester following his loan move from Bayer Leverkusen.

The Foxes are still awaiting international clearance over a £22million deal for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Adrien Silva, who would likely start in the centre should the deal receive approval.

Chelsea

Deadline day signing from Leicester City could be available to face his former club but it is unlikely that he will get a start so soon. Eden Hazard is in contention for a return to Conte's squad after making his first competitive start of the season in Belgium's 9-0 win against Gibraltar during the international break.

Skipper Gary Cahill remains suspended, but will serve the final game of his three-match ban against Leicester.

Predicted lineups

Leicester City ( 4-4-2): Schmeichel; Simpson, Morgan, Maguire, Fuchs; Mahrez, James, Silva, Albrighton; Okazaki, Vardy

Chelsea (3-4-3): Courtois; Azpilicueta, Luiz, Rudiger; Moses, Kante, Fabregas Alonso; Willian, Morata, Pedro.

TV guide:

The match will kick off at 07.30 pm IST at the King Powell Stadium and the Indian viewers can tune in to Star Sports Select HD1/Star Sports Select1 for live actions.
