Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has officially extended his contract with Saudi Pro League outfit Al Nassr, committing his future to the Riyadh-based side until 2027.
The 40-year-old confirmed the news with a passionate message on social media, writing: "A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let's make history together." Al Nassr also celebrated the announcement, stating: "Cristiano Ronaldo is staying at @AlNassrFC until 2027."

Ronaldo initially joined Al Nassr in 2023, becoming the face of Saudi Arabia's bold project to transform its footballing landscape. His arrival sparked a wave of marquee signings by other Pro League clubs, as the nation invested heavily in attracting world-class talent.
A representative from the Public Investment Fund (PIF), which supports the Saudi league's growth, emphasized Ronaldo's pivotal role in elevating the league's stature: "Ronaldo's presence is a key factor in developing the Saudi league in the last two years and a half. He opens the door for elite and young players to come to Saudi Arabia."
This contract extension comes on the heels of managerial change at Al Nassr, with head coach Stefano Pioli stepping down just nine months into his tenure. The club did not reveal the reason behind the Italian's departure.
Al Nassr wrapped up their latest campaign with a third-place finish in the Saudi Pro League, trailing behind rivals Al Hilal and Al Ittihad. While they secured qualification for the AFC Champions League, the team has not lifted the league title since 2019 and has cycled through three head coaches since Ronaldo's arrival.
Ronaldo joined the Saudi side following an acrimonious end to his second spell at Manchester United. After rejoining the Premier League club in 2021, tensions between him and United escalated, ultimately leading to his departure. His move to Al Nassr marked a significant shift in his storied career and a defining moment in the Saudi Pro League's evolution.
