Lille climbed to third place in Ligue 1 after a comeback victory against Nice, winning 2-1 at Stade Pierre-Mauroy. Hakon Haraldsson and Bafode Diakite scored in the second half, securing Lille's first win since December. Sofiane Diop had initially put Nice ahead in the 29th minute by capitalising on a rebound from Lucas Chevalier's save.
Nice nearly doubled their lead before halftime when Tanguy Ndombele's volley hit the crossbar. Haraldsson equalised for Lille just three minutes into the second half with a precise shot. Diakite then netted the winner in the 63rd minute, benefiting from a lucky bounce to score.

Despite creating more chances, Nice only converted one of their four significant opportunities, generating an expected goals tally of 2.87 compared to Lille's 1.02. This inefficiency saw them drop to fifth place as Lille extended their unbeaten streak to 14 matches.
Earlier that day, Monaco faced a surprising defeat against Montpellier, losing 2-1 despite leading at halftime. Thilo Kehrer gave Monaco the lead in the 32nd minute with a header from Lamine Camara's cross. However, Montpellier turned the game around with two second-half goals.
Mousa Al Ta'mari was pivotal for Montpellier, scoring twice. His first goal came in the 55th minute from close range, and he secured victory eight minutes before full-time by converting Arnaud Nordin's cross. Soungoutou Magassa had a chance to restore Monaco's lead but hit the woodwork.
This loss dropped Monaco to fourth place following Lille's triumph. Although Montpellier remains at the bottom of the table, they are now just four points away from safety as other weekend matches approach.
