Lionel Messi has had another impactful year in 2023 despite venturing into a new background. For the first time in his career, the Argentine legend left Europe for a new experience in the United States with MLS side Inter Miami. However, his goal-scoring streak continued there as well.
Following the World Cup 2022 victory, Messi continued his club career with PSG and guided them to the Ligue 1 trophy. However, he did not renew with the French giants and signed for the MLS side. Inter Miami were one of the worst-performing sides in the MLS but Messi's arrival changed the scenario.

His performance in Argentine colors also was as emphatic as before. Messi lost just once in 2023 with Argentina while he scored 8 goals and provided one assist in the process. Overall Messi ended the 203 calendar year with 28 goals to his name with a Ligue 1 trophy with PSG and a League Cup trophy with Inter Miami to show for.
