Portuguese superstar and Al-Nassr star attacker Cristiano Ronaldo is by far one of the greatest goalscorers the world has ever seen.

The 38-year-old since bursting into the scene in Sporting Lisbon has been a goal-scoring machine throughout his career playing for clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and currently Saudi Arabia giants Al-Nassr and his national team.

With 841 career goals to his name so far at the time of writing, Ronaldo is currently the all-time top scorer in the history of the game. At the age of 38 years, he is still going more vital than ever in the Middle East.

However, his arch-rival Lionel Messi too is not far from his reach. The new Inter Miami star too has been a terrific goalscorer and so far has managed 814 official goals meaning he needs just 27 goals further to break the Portuguese's record.

The former Barcelona and PSG star is reaching new heights at his new MLS side and already has seven goals in four games.

The contest in the United States so far has proved to be pretty amateurish for the World Cup winner. And should he continue such goal-scoring prowess, he surely will not be far away from touching his rival's record.

All that being said, both the superstars are not showing any hint of hanging up their boots, meaning the contest will hopefully live on for a few more years before a conclusion is reached.

However, Ronaldo is 38 years of age while Messi is two years younger than him. Considering the age factor there is a chance of Messi playing longer than the Portuguese legend which can hand the Argentine top-scorer an added advantage in this race.
