Lionel Messi's words unassuring, could be another no-show against Vissel Kobe

Lionel Messi’s appearance for Inter Miami has been inconsistent. This saw Miami lose the chance to do better in the MLS last season. On top of that, it seems, his absence in their pre-season matches is also getting affected.

Reportedly, he has been missing all of these matches due to injuries. However, as Miami are touring around the world, Lionel Messi and Co. have won only one match so far, but Messi's absence could continue.

Ahead of their next pre-season match against Vissel Kobe in Japan, Lionel Messi addressed the media and talked about his injury. The Inter Miami star said he is feeling better and wants to play in their next match, but he's not sure if he can.

Messi said, “The truth is that it was bad luck that I couldn't (play) on the day of the Hong Kong match. Unfortunately, in football, things can happen in any game, and we may have an injury.”

He added, “It's a shame because I always want to participate, I want to be there, and even more so when it comes to these games when we travel so far and people are so excited to see our matches.”

The Argentine concluded by saying, “The truth is that I feel very good compared to a few days ago. And depending on how that (training) goes. And if I'm honest, I still don't know if I will be able to or not.”

His absence in Miami's last match in Hong Kong created quite an uproar among fans and sponsors. The MLS club will not want it to happen again, so if Messi is fit, then he could feature against Vissel Kobe.

Additionally, Miami won their first match after 13 games in Hong Kong. They will look to gain momentum from this win and get at least two more wins from their next two pre-season games before they start their MLS season on February 22.
