Inside Lionel Messi €9 Million Yacht: Four Cabins, Ocean Lounge and More

Lionel Messi has ordered a luxury ULTIMA 88 power catamaran from Polish yacht builder Sunreef Yachts, with the vessel set to join the football icon's MIM Ocean fleet in Spain's Balearic Islands once construction is complete. The model is listed at around €9 million on online marketplace YachtWorld, although the price paid for Messi's individual yacht has not been confirmed.

Sunreef, headquartered in Gdańsk, Poland, announced the order on social media, welcoming the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner to its clientele. The yacht is currently under construction at the company's shipyard in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.

"It's official: Leo Messi joins the House of Sunreef," the company announced, describing the ULTIMA 88 as a dynamic yacht selected to match the Argentine's style and preference for luxury.

Inside Lionel Messi's ULTIMA 88 Luxury Yacht

The ULTIMA 88 measures approximately 26.8 metres in length and 9.3 metres across, combining spacious indoor accommodation with outdoor areas designed for relaxation and marine activities.

The yacht will feature four guest cabins and a full-beam owner's suite, alongside an ocean lounge that provides direct access to the water for swimming and watersports. A dedicated garage for personal watercraft and a large upper deck are also among its features.

Sunreef offers the model with conventional diesel propulsion or a hybrid configuration that allows for quieter electric cruising. The builder has yet to confirm the final performance figures for Messi's individual vessel.

The yacht is intended to provide the family with privacy and comfort while offering the flexibility to spend time on the water away from the demands of professional football.

Messi Explains Why He Chose Sunreef Yachts

Messi said he was looking forward to joining the Sunreef family and enjoying the yacht with his loved ones.

"It's a real pleasure to join the Sunreef family. My family and I have always loved spending time at sea whenever we get the chance," the Inter Miami star said.

"Sunreef Yachts have the style and features I really like, and they're a perfect fit for what I'm looking for. I'm really looking forward to experiencing the ULTIMA 88 and enjoying it with my family."

The order also connects Messi with a luxury yacht builder whose clients include several prominent figures from the sporting world.

Robert Lewandowski, Rafael Nadal Among Sunreef's Sporting Clients

Messi joins fellow footballer Robert Lewandowski and tennis stars Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz among Sunreef's high-profile clients. Formula 1 drivers Fernando Alonso and Nico Rosberg have also been associated with the yacht builder.

Founded in 2002 by French entrepreneur Francis Lapp, Sunreef specialises in custom-built luxury sailing and power catamarans.

Lapp said Messi's decision reflected the company's emphasis on personal freedom and spending time with family.

"At Sunreef Yachts, we believe that true luxury is the freedom to choose how you spend your time, with the people who matter most. The sea gives us that freedom in its purest form," Lapp said. "We are incredibly proud to welcome Leo Messi and his family to the House of Sunreef."

Messi's Yacht to Join MIM Ocean Fleet in the Balearic Islands

Once completed, the ULTIMA 88 will join Messi's MIM Ocean fleet, a luxury yacht charter venture operating in Spain's Balearic Islands.

The acquisition adds another luxury asset to the Argentine's leisure portfolio while expanding the fleet associated with his charter business. For Sunreef, securing an order from one of football's most recognisable figures also strengthens its profile in the high-end yacht market.

Although the model's listed price is approximately €9 million, the final cost of Messi's customised vessel has not been disclosed. The delivery timeline has also not been confirmed in the supplied reports.
