Bengaluru, March 8: Premier League duo Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly set to battle it out for Italy international Bryan Cristante.
Italian mediahouse Tuttosport claims the Benfica midfielder, currently on loan at Atalanta, has emerged as a £27million target for the Premier League pair.
The 23-year-old has impressed this season, scoring ten goals in 33 appearances across all competitions.
The 23-year-old is rated as one of the best young midfielders in Europe and both Arsenal and Liverpool, who need bolstering in midfield, are monitoring his progress.
The Italian's recent explosion to the international scene has clubs sniffing around for his signature.
It’s said that Liverpool and Arsenal are keen on bringing Cristante to England having watched him closely throughout the season.
Cristante is a brilliant passer of the ball and would be a welcome addition to either Arsenal or Liverpool.
West Ham and Watford are also interested in the young midfield ace but they are aware of the fact that they have very little chance of pulling it off.
Meanwhile, he is also attracting interest in his native Italy with Juventus and Inter said to be pondering a move.
Atalanta are expected to take up an option to buy Cristante for just £2million this summer but they might then look to cash in immediately for a huge profit, with the intense interest certainly taking his price tag much higher.
AC Milan are also interested in the player who graduated from their youth academy but could not make it to the first team on a regular basis.
