Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold is optimistic about the team's chances of securing trophies this season. Their recent victories over Real Madrid and Manchester City have bolstered their confidence. Currently, Liverpool leads the Premier League, holding a four-point advantage over Chelsea and an eight-point lead over Manchester City, with a game in hand.
Under Arne Slot's guidance, Liverpool has experienced a nearly flawless start. They have only suffered one defeat in all competitions—a narrow 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest at home. In the Champions League, they boast an impeccable record, having won all six of their matches so far.

The Reds are on an impressive 18-match unbeaten streak across all competitions. They are widely regarded as favourites to clinch the Premier League title, with an 82.4% probability of finishing first by season's end. "This is where we want to be [at the top of the table]," Alexander-Arnold expressed to Sky Sports.
Despite their strong position, Alexander-Arnold remains cautious about getting carried away too early in the season. He stated, "It is still early days, so we can't get too excited." However, he acknowledged that being in such a favourable position would have been met with "massive smiles" at the season's start.
Liverpool has continued their attacking prowess under Slot's leadership, scoring two or more goals in each of their last seven Premier League matches. This run is reminiscent of their form between September and December 2021 when they achieved 11 consecutive games with multiple goals.
In 2024, Liverpool has netted 76 goals in 33 games, marking their second-best average goals per game (2.3) during the Premier League era. Their highest rate was in 2019 when they scored at a rate of 2.38 goals per game.
Their recent triumphs include a convincing 2-0 victory over Manchester City at home and another 2-0 win against Madrid in the Champions League. Alexander-Arnold believes these wins were pivotal for Liverpool's momentum this season.
"I think that was just a statement week for the team," he remarked regarding those victories against two of their biggest rivals both domestically and in Europe over recent years.
Alexander-Arnold emphasised that overcoming these formidable opponents within days sent a clear message about Liverpool's capabilities. He said, "We know what level we are... We know what levels we can hit."
The defender also highlighted that while others' opinions don't affect them, Liverpool recognises areas for improvement and aims to enhance their performance throughout the season.
Liverpool has picked up where they left off under Jurgen Klopp, maintaining high standards and consistency on the field. As they continue to build on their strengths, they remain focused on achieving success across multiple competitions this year.
