Liverpool closing in on Bayern starlet

London, August 29: Bayern Munich youngster Renato Sanches could be on the verge of a sensational move to Liverpool, according to reports in Italy.

The Portuguese midfielder, 20, endured a difficult debut season at Allianz Arena and is currently out of favour of manager Carlo Ancelotti but Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of the Portuguese talent who is just 19.

Sky Italia have claimed that Liverpool – fresh from their 4-0 hammering of Arsenal on Sunday – are deep in talks with Bundesliga giants Bayern over the young midfield sensation.

The youngster’s agent, Jorge Mendes, was in Monaco at the weekend watching another of his clients, Kylian Mbappe who is also speculated to be joining PSG.

But on his return from the French Riviera he is set to conclude talks for Sanches who is also a target of clubs like Chelsea and AC Milan.

Liverpool are looking to be on a roll ahead of the transfer deadline day. The Reds managed to seal a deal with RB Leipzig for midfield dynamo Naby Keita on Monday but the Guinean will join them next season. So, Liverpool’s interest in a central midfielder seems logical and Renato Sanches could prove to be an invaluable addition.

The Reds would to need to splash in excess of £30million for the star midfielder which is nothing compared to the inflated market of today. Also, Sanches has his best days ahead of him being just 19.

Sanches was left out of Munich’s squad for their clash with Werder Bremen this weekend as he considers his future at the club. The central midfielder only joined the German outfit last summer from Benfica, having starred in Portugal’s Euro 2016-winning campaign.

Liverpool are also closing in on the signings of Virgil van Dijk and Thomas Lemar as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are keen to make a statement in the transfer market.
