Jurgen Klopp gives massive update on Mohamed Salah exit rumours

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has rejected rumours suggesting that Mohamed Salah could be transferred to Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the crucial role of the Egyptian striker within the team.

After signing midfielder Fabinho from Liverpool for £40 million this summer, Saudi club Al Ittihad has reportedly shown renewed interest in acquiring Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian still has two years remaining on his contract with Liverpool.

Reports suggest that Al-Ittihad is willing to pay a staggering £60 million fee for the services of 31-year-old Mohamed Salah. Furthermore, it is claimed that he could potentially earn £155 million over a span of two years, making him one of the highest-paid footballers globally.

Despite the rumours and lucrative offers being discussed, the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp revealed that Liverpool has not received any contact or official bids from Saudi Pro League clubs regarding their star player.

He further emphasized that even bids exceeding £100 million would be rejected and has affirmed that the Egyptian will be staying at the Merseyside at any cost this season.

"It's always a bit difficult to talk about media stories because there is nothing to talk about at the moment," Klopp said ahead of their match against Newcastle.

"We don't have an offer, Mo Salah is still a Liverpool player, obviously for all the things we do, he's essential and will be. There's nothing there. If there would be something, the answer would be no," Klopp added.

The Egyptian signed a three-year contract at the start of last season, which is the most lucrative contract in their history. The former Chelsea player has been a stellar figure for them, scoring 187 goals in 308 appearances so far. He has also lifted the Premier League, and Champions League with Liverpool.
