Bengaluru, April 29: Even though there is still plenty of time before the summer transfer window opens ahead of the next season, the rumour mill is already on a roll and Liverpool, as always, is one of the favourites of the rumour mill.

The Reds have been linked with some high-profile footballers ahead of the summer transfer window in which we can expect Jurgen Klopp to be a busy man. The latest name to be linked with a move to Anfield is AC Milan defender Mattia De Scigilo.

It is being reported that Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the 24-year-old fullback. However, it will not be an easy task at all to lure the Milan man to the Red half of Merseyside as clubs like Juventus, Napoli and Barcelona have also registered their interest in the bombarding full-back.

De Scigilo will enter the final 18 months of his contract at the San Siro club in the summer and it is reported that Milan are looking to cash him in rather than losing him for free next season.

It is hardly a surprise to see Liverpool looking for the signature of the Italian full-back who can play either as a right-back or a left-back. They are in desperate need of a left-back which is evident after seeing a midfielder by trade, James Milner playing in that position throughout the season.

De Scigilo is just 24 years of age and has his best days ahead of him. He has been capped 31 times for the Azzurri already in his career and is rated highly across Europe.

The young full-back is technically gifted and has been compared to club and country legend Paolo Maldini thanks to his gifted all-round abilities of a defender.

However, it is believed that Liverpool need to secure Champions League qualification if they dream of signing players of De Scigilo's calibre. With Milan languishing at sixth in Serie A, this move does not seem unrealistic at all.
