Liverpool lead the race for La Liga forward

Bengaluru, Febuary 12: Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool are set to win the race to sign Deportivo La Coruna forward Oscar Pinchi.

The Liverpool boss is competing with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur for the Spaniard who is capable of playing anywhere across the frontline.

The 22-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and will move for a small compensation fee is paid to his Spanish club.

He has played for Deportivo’s second team and his pace has caught the eye of Premier League scouts and he is set to move to England in the summer.

Klopp is looking to bolster an attack that has lost Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona and Pinchi is a low-risk investment for the Kop boss.

Pinchi would bolster a front line that has been potent this season but has barely given a rest to Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane with the added workload of the Champions League.

Especially Roberto Firmino is an irreplaceable player in Liverpool's attack due to what he gives to the team.

The Brazilian does not play like a typical centre forward but as a false nine who is involved in almost every chance Liverpool create.

Pinchi is a player who can prove to be a good backup for the Brazilian which the likes of Ings, Solanke and Sturridge have all tried and failed.

Manchester United have also been impressed by Pinchi and believe he would compete for a place in Jose Mourinho’s squad.

And Spurs also view him as an alternative to Bordeaux forward Malcom, who was a target in January before they ended up going for Lucas Moura.

Liverpool are expected to spend big in the summer and a free transfer for Pinchi would definitely help them get their other targets.
