Bengaluru, March 19: Liverpool have been linked with a summer move for Paris Saint-Germain star winger Julian Draxler.

The Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is aware he still needs to strengthen his squad in the summer window if he wants to turn them into realistic title challengers.

Manchester City are on their way to the Premier League crown with the other big sides like Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs fighting only for a top-four finish now and it is quite clear that the Reds are lacking the quality on the pitch compared to their rivals.

Reports in Europe claim that Klopp is looking to revamp his squad in the summer with his long-term target Julian Draxler one of the priorities for the next season.

Italian outlet Transfermarketweb.com claim the winger is in the sights of Klopp with a close season move to the Premier League being touted. The Italian media claim that the Liverpool boss is showing an interest in trying to arrange a move which would see Draxler move to Anfield.

The wide man has long been regarded as one of the brightest young attacking midfielders in Europe, watched by several clubs in the Premier League. Since making his big move to PSG in January last year, things have not worked out well for a player who is a key part of Germany's World Cup plans.

He initially settled in well to life with the wealthy French club, and scored the opening goal in the 4-1 win over Monaco to win the League Cup Final. But his standing changed last summer when PSG decided to go all out for the Champions League by signing Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Having forked out a world record £198million on Neymar, Draxler suddenly found himself only being regarded as a squad player by coach Unai Emery.

Even though he has made 35 appearances in all competitions this season, a large number of those have come off the bench. A move to Liverpool can offer the German regular playing time and their style of play suits him quite well too.
