Victor Munoz Joins Liverpool As Iraola First Signing For 2026-27 Season
Liverpool confirm an agreement to sign striker Victor Munoz from Osasuna, activating a 40m (34.7m) release clause. The 22-year-old is part of Spain’s World Cup squad and will move once work permit and international checks are completed.
Munoz has accepted a long-term contract at Anfield, reported to run for six years. The forward becomes Andoni Iraola’s first recruit and is expected to feature heavily in the 2026-27 campaign, with Liverpool planning around a demanding schedule.

Before this transfer, Munoz joined Osasuna from Real Madrid last summer. The forward scored seven goals and delivered five assists across 34 matches for the LaLiga club this season. Munoz also marked a Spain debut in March, scoring against Serbia.
| Club | Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Osasuna | 2025-26 | 34 | 7 | 5 |
Munoz is Liverpool’s first incoming player of the summer window but the second confirmed addition. Jeremy Jaquet completed a move to Anfield in January, then remained with Rennes until season’s end, adding further depth to Andoni Iraola’s future squad.
The need for another striker is clear for Liverpool, with Hugo Ekiktike facing a season largely lost after an Achilles injury in April. Alexander Isak’s availability also remains uncertain following an injury-affected first campaign after arriving at Anfield.
Newcastle United had been strongly connected with Munoz earlier in the window. Liverpool then acted decisively by meeting the 40m clause to secure the forward. Munoz may next appear for Spain against Saudi Arabia at the World Cup, before linking up.
