Liverpool Star Luis Diaz's Mother Rescued in Colombia, Father Still Missing

Colombian and Liverpool footballer, Luis Diaz, is facing a distressing family crisis as his parents fell victim to a kidnapping incident in northern Colombia.

While Diaz's mother, Cilenis Marulanda, has been successfully rescued, his father remains missing, prompting a widespread search operation.

The kidnapping occurred as the couple was en route to their home when they were intercepted by armed individuals on motorcycles who subsequently abducted them in their own vehicle.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro disclosed that Diaz's mother had been rescued in the city of Barrancas, located in the northern La Guajira province. Law enforcement agencies have mobilized considerable resources in their efforts to locate and rescue Diaz's father, under the direction of Police Director Gen William Salamanca.

Colombia's soccer federation expressed its deep regret over the kidnapping and issued an urgent plea to authorities to expedite the rescue of Diaz's father.
