Liverpool star Salah lifts the lid on relationship with Jose Mourinho

London, Feb 8: Current Premier League top scorer Mohamed Salah has lifted the lid on his relationship with his former boss Jose Mourinho and has shared details of a conversation he had with him earlier in the season.

Salah joined the Reds for £39million from Roma in the summer and has been the most influential player for the Kops. The Egyptian attacker has already set the stage on fire at Anfield after an incredible start to his second spell in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old came to Merseyside with a goal scoring reputation and till now has delivered the same with 28 goals and nine assists in 34 matches across all competitions.

But earlier in his first spell at England, he failed to make an impact when he arrived at Chelsea under Jose Mourinho in 2014 as a replacement of Juan Mata.

Mourinho signed the winger but Salah played just 19 games in two years on Stamford Bridge, leaving twice on loan, one with Fiorentina and one with Roma in the next two seasons. In both the cases, the winger found his rhythm again and scored 35 goals in Serie A in three years only to see his second loan spell at Roma becoming permanent.

Salah played against his former manager Mourinho only once this season in a 0-0 draw at Anfield.

And the 25-year-old has revealed he spoke to Mourinho after United played Liverpool at Anfield in October in which he suggested despite Mourinho's giving him very little opportunity to shine, both of them still has “a good relationship”.

"We talked at Chelsea when I first came back from the loan spell at Fiorentina," Salah said, in an interview with FourFourTwo magazine.

We also spoke after the match against Manchester United this season and have a good relationship. We didn't talk much, but it was OK."

"Three years ago I didn't play much, but since day one back in England I wanted to show what I can do. I think I'm doing well."
