Liverpool target PSG star attacker Julian Draxler

According to French publication L'Equipe, Liverpool have already made contact with the Parisian club over an ambitious loan move for the German international, Draxler.

Liverpool back in for Julian Draxler

Liverpool, November 24: As per reports in England, Liverpool are once again looking to sign German winger Julian Draxler. The former Schalke man emerged as a transfer target of the Reds on more than occasion and the Reds are looking to try their luck once again in January.

According to French publication L'Equipe, Liverpool have already made contact with the Parisian club over an ambitious loan move for the German international.

The 24-year-old only joined PSG in January of 2017 but has struggled to cement is favourite attacking position due to the signings of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Liverpool lost the battle to PSG for the signing of Draxler in January 2017 as he made his move to Parc des Princes but the German is not a regular at the club which is why Liverpool are looking to lure him out.

The 24-year-old has still started nine of his 16 appearances for PSG this season, but most often in a deeper midfield role.

And according to L’Equipe, Liverpool are seeking a temporary move for Draxler, with a view to signing the versatile attacking midfielder on a permanent deal next summer.

Draxler is seemingly reluctant to leave Paris so soon after joining the club but regular gametime could tempt him to move to Anfield.

PSG need to sell some of their star players to abide by the regulations of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play but selling Draxler is something they would not welcome. But, a good offer might tempt them.

The arrival of Draxler may facilitate the departure of Philippe Coutinho, with Barcelona expected to return with a new bid for the Brazilian in January.

If the Reds manage to retain Coutinho and also sign Draxler, they would become one of the best attacking forces in the continent with plenty of depth in the squad as well.
