London City Lionesses Part Ways With Jocelyn Precheur Amid Mid-season Coaching Change

London City Lionesses have dismissed head coach Jocelyn Precheur during the club’s first Women’s Super League campaign. The decision comes despite a solid start, with the newly promoted side sitting sixth, having recorded five wins and six defeats, and holding a 12-point cushion over bottom-place Liverpool.

The club stressed that the change on the touchline is not linked to current results. A statement on the London City Lionesses website explained that the leadership is planning ahead, with long-term vision, rather than reacting to league form during this debut season in the top division.

According to the statement, "Following careful consideration, the club believes that now is the right time to begin a new cycle and pursue a different strategic direction for the next phase of its development." The wording underlined a desire to reshape plans while the team remains stable in mid-table.

London City Lionesses also publicly recognised the departing staff. The club said it "sincerely thanks Jocelyn Precheur and his coaching staff for their professionalism, commitment, and significant contribution to the club's recent sporting success, and wishes them every success in their future careers." That message highlighted appreciation for work across both divisions.

Precheur had been appointed in June 2024 on a three-year contract and immediately delivered promotion. London City Lionesses won the Women’s Championship under Precheur and became the first independent club to reach the Women’s Super League, marking a key moment in the side’s history.

Over 40 competitive matches, Precheur guided London City Lionesses to 24 victories, with four draws and 12 defeats. That return produced an average of 1.9 points per game and a 60% win rate. The club has not yet announced a successor, leaving the next step in its Women’s Super League journey open.
