London Riots imposes an uncertain future on EPL 2011

Bangalore, Aug 10: With the third Test of the four-match series between India and England ready to go on, one might have assumed the return of peace to London. But that is not to be as the London police, have reportedly advised all football clubs to postpone matches as violence continues to engulf the British capital.

With the international friendly between England and Holland called off due to the riots, there are now several question marks on the English Premier League which is scheduled to kick off on Aug 13.

In addition to the the England vs Netherlands match, two Carling Cup matches at Charlton and West Ham have been called off.

If the worse becomes a reality, then the EPL schedule will take a severe beating as the Queen's Park Rangers, Tottenham and Fulham are all scheduled to play at home on Aug 13.

Tottenham Hotspur football club has already issued a statement assuring that they will try and proceed with the game and that they are doing everything possible to ensure the safety for supporters.
