Luis Diaz has expressed his gratitude to Liverpool supporters following his confirmed transfer to Bayern Munich. The Colombian international, who was eager for a move, concluded his time at Anfield with a 75 million euro deal on Wednesday. During his tenure, Diaz played a crucial role in securing four major trophies for Liverpool, including the Premier League title.
Diaz's contribution to Liverpool was significant, with 57 goal involvements—41 goals and 16 assists—in 148 appearances across all competitions. Reflecting on his journey, he shared an emotional message on Instagram: "Three-and-a-half years that I'll treasure forever. I arrived with all the dreams in the world, and I am leaving proud of everything we achieved together."

In his farewell message, Diaz expressed appreciation for the people he met at Liverpool. He mentioned incredible teammates, supportive coaches, and extraordinary fans. "Liverpool is, indeed, a special team," he stated. "I will keep everyone in my heart." He acknowledged the ups and downs but emphasized the truthfulness and unity within the club.
Diaz joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022. During his time with the Reds, he formed strong bonds with fellow players and staff. He highlighted how these relationships contributed to their success on the field. "The cycle ends here," Diaz said, "and it is so gratifying to look back and realise how happy we were."
The winger also paid tribute to Diogo Jota, who tragically passed away in a car accident earlier this month alongside his brother Andre Silva. Diaz expressed sorrow over this loss: "It would have been the perfect goodbye if we hadn't lost one of ours in such a tragic way."
Diaz reiterated that he carries everyone from Liverpool in his heart but holds a special place for Jota: "As I said, and I repeat, I carry everyone with me in my heart, but one of them in particular: Diogo. I will never forget him. We will never forget him."
Looking ahead, Diaz could make his debut for Bayern Munich against Lyon at Allianz Arena on Saturday. As he transitions to this new chapter in Germany, he leaves behind a legacy of dedication and success at Liverpool.
The club expressed gratitude towards Diaz for his contributions during his stay. They wished him well as he embarks on this new journey with Bayern Munich.
